ABB has selected Krakow as the location for the largest center of its newly established global service network, demonstrating the company’s confidence in local skills, infrastructure and business conditions. The Global Business Services center in the city will employ approximately 2,000 people when fully operational, providing professional support for ABB’s finance, human resources, information systems and supply chain management operations worldwide.
ABB is creating six GBS centers around the world as part of its transformation into a lean, agile and customer-focused company. In addition to being ABB’s biggest, the GBS center in Krakow will be one of the largest shared service environments in the city and will integrate ABB’s former Information Systems Delivery Center (ISDC) organization.
“The Global Business Services center in Krakow is testimony to ABB’s long-term commitment to sustainably invest in Poland, contributing to local employment and societal development,” said Hannu Kasi, ABB Global Business Services Group Implementation Lead. “The new world-wide service organization will provide simplified, efficient and dedicated end-to-end global processes, thus supporting the growth of ABB’s businesses.”
ABB’s GBS network will have the agility of a start-up, with its own priorities and targets, while benefiting from the established industry leadership and best practices of ABB.
“The center will deliver high quality services for ABB, with optimized costs, making an important contribution to the company’s transformation under its Next Level strategy,” said Paweł Łojszczyk, Country Managing Director of ABB in Poland. “It will be a great place to work, and I am proud that ABB has decided to establish the GBC center in Krakow.”
