MIDEST 2015: a show that both reflects its time and looks to the future

The 45th MIDEST, the global show for all of industrial subcontracting know-how, will take place from 17th to 20th November at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre at a time when the European economy is finally displaying encouraging signs of recovery.
Optimism is very much the order of the day and by the end of May the show was doing well in both France and internationally, having taken firm bookings for 80% of its space.
At a time when the industrial landscape is evolving and the subcontractor has become a genuine strategic partner and a factor in competitiveness, MIDEST is working to help manufacturers strengthen and develop their businesses by offering them not just real opportunities but by accompanying them in the major changes and breaks with the past that industry in general and subcontracting in particular are experiencing.
To this end, the show will be hosting a series of lectures, round tables and special events on the problems manufacturers are currently facing as well as those that will affect their future. There will also of course be all the usual highlights that are so popular with exhibitors and visitors alike including the Industrial Subcontracting Awards, the world’s only set of awards specifically for the sector’s companies, players and know-how, as well as the business meeting, the TV studio…
MIDEST 2015 guides manufacturers in their day-to-day work and towards the future
Beyond its role as a catalyst for meetings and a business generator, MIDEST has set itself the task of highlighting sector trends in industry in general and subcontracting in particular. More than ever in 2015, it will guide manufacturers as they deal with the major changes and breaks with the past that they are faced with.
Through lectures, round tables and special events it will tackle problems as current as investment, revealing ignored resources, the evolution of subcontractor and customer relationships towards a win/win partnership, or the benefits of grouping together in order to win contracts. Without of course forgetting the crucial question of the economic recovery and the transformation of the current motor vehicle landscape.
However, this year’s show also aims to help them anticipate the changes that will form the industry of tomorrow. The much talked about Industry of the Future, a real revolution, will be covered through themes such as robotization, additive manufacturing, energy efficiency and the major challenge of training and recruitment. These topics, which are of crucial importance and where it is necessary to act right away, will be covered by MIDEST 2015.
Amongst the other events on offer to visitors and exhibitors alike, the Industrial Subcontracting Awards will provide recognition for outstanding work. CETIM, the mechanical engineering technical centre, will also be organizing its always eagerly anticipated flash conferences in the Place de la Mécanique, which it will host along with the Mechanical Engineering Federation. The b2fair – Business to Fairs® business meetings will bring together subcontractors and customers who are looking to forge concrete partnerships in a specific sector, market or geographical region. This year, the TV Studio and conference venue have been brought together, which will allow discussions to be filmed. It will welcome major figures from industry who are attending the show, and these highlights will be available to view on the www.midest.com website and on the MIDEST TV YouTube channel.
MIDEST, a source of information, all day, every day
The show does not just confine itself to providing manufacturers with information during the 4 days when its doors are open at Villepinte. This is something its audience is well aware of this since 50% of the visits each year to www.midest.com are made between January and September. The site devotes a considerable amount of space to real time content drawn from the various individual sectors and it has launched its own YouTube channel. Its goal is to exceed the 2.5 million page impressions and 412,000 visits of 2014, which represented an increase of 17% in one year. Finally, MIDEST has an increasing presence on the various social networks, whether it be Viadeo, where it has almost 2,300 members, Twitter, with over 1,700 followers, LinkedIn for its English speaking audience, and Facebook.
